Starting the Christmas Season Off Right
A tradition for over 15 years, the annual Advent-Christmas Concert at The Presbyterian Church of Wyoming has a few changes this year. First of all, the concert will be on a Wednesday evening, December 7th at 6:30 p.m. There is a home cooked dinner beforehand in the church's Great Room at 5:30 p.m. that is open to anyone—the cost is $7.00 and the meals are always delicious.
The Children’s Choir directed by Angela Carota will be bringing some special music and joining the church's Chancel Choir and CCM soloists for the annual finale of “Night of Silence” The choirs will encircle the audience while singing “Silent Night” accompanied by harp music played by Kim Cooper.
Several portions of Benjamin Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols” will be sung by the women of the choir. The men will answer with two Christmas Spirituals, “See That Babe in the Lowly Manger” and “Mary Had a Baby.”
One of the choir's World Choir Game selections will also be presented, the tender Scottish carol “Baloo Lammy” arranged by Norman Luboff. Janet Mangels will be at the organ presenting the beautiful music of the season.
Be sure and mark your calendars for the dinner and the concert this year to start your Advent and Christmas season with joy and peace.
