May the fourth be with you.  Join us on May 4th for the first Market Tuesday of 2010.  No need to search the galaxy for outstanding seasonal produce, it will be at 522 Wyoming Ave!  We're celebrating the day with a Star Wars theme, bring your light saber and become part of the force that celebrates and protects small, local, family farms.  Discover the best salad greens in the universe, out-of-this-world baked goods, and prepared foods to nourish your earth-based family.
 
Your Wyoming Ave. Farmers' Market is 'producer-only'.  The farmers bring to Market the produce that's in season in this climate zone.  On May 4th you might find a variety of lettuces, other salad greens--such as spinach and arugula, microgreens, asparagus, spring onions, and herbs.  Watch your email Monday for detailed information from each farmer.
 
Several of last year's cottage vendors have expanded their products to include additional prepared foods, making Tuesday dinner easier to put together.  In addition, there are several new vendors with ready-to-eat items that will expand your menu horizons.  The farm fresh eggs are also an easy Tuesday meal--omelettes and frittatas are a great way to eat deliciously and healthfully.
 
Gorman Heritage Farm will bring a selection of terrestrial animals on opening day--fun for kids and adults.
