Wyoming Fire-EMS Chief Robert Rielage Recognized By National and International
Fire Organizations For His Continuous Contributions

Wyoming-January 22, 2010- Wyoming Fire-EMS Chief Robert Rielage was unexpectedly honored by two different organizations within the past two weeks.  Chief Rielage has held the position of Wyoming Fire Chief for the past seven years, managing 78 volunteer and part-time firefighters, paramedics, and EMT’s, while simultaneously contributing his knowledge and skills to local, national, and international fire organizations.

In early January 2010, Chief Rielage was recognized by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), the largest international association of fire engineers headquartered in London, England.  Rielage was presented with the Past President’s Medallion with Ribbon, a first of its kind, for his continuing service to the IFE-US Branch.  The award, symbolizing outstanding leadership of a past President, was also presented to local Sycamore Fire Chief BJ Jetter and Plano, Texas Fire Chief Bill Peterson. Chief Rielage has been a dedicated member of the IFE for 12 years and has served as Secretary, Vice President, President, and on the Executive Board.

More praise for Chief Rielage came from Fire Chief Magazine as they honored Rielage with the new title of Contributing Editor in light of his monthly column he began writing in late 2008.  Rielage authors the column entitled “Volunteer Voice” which is aimed towards the 14,000 fire departments across the United States that are comprised of volunteer, career, and combination departments.

“Wyoming is fortunate to have Chief Rielage’s leadership in the fire service”, says Bob Harrison, Wyoming City Manager.  “He has brought best practices to the department and innovation to our training and development.”

The City of Wyoming is honored to have Chief Robert Rielage as part of their team and is proud of his many accomplishments.  Through his magazine editorials, Chief Rielage has signified to his readers that the Wyoming Fire-EMS Department is an outstanding team of professionals and that the City of Wyoming is a great place to live.

**Prior to becoming Wyoming Fire-EMS Chief, Robert Rielage held the position of Fire Marshal for the State of Ohio for four years, Assistant Fire-EMS Chief for Colerain Township, and has worked as an emergency services consultant across the State of Ohio.
