Wyoming Fire – EMS in conjunction with the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the Federal Communications Commission will attempt to assist Wyoming residents with issues concerning the June 12 transition to Digital Television. Those residents not using cable or satellite services that have acquired the necessary conversion box can call the Department’s non-emergency number, 513.821.4980, for questions on how to hook-up the converter to their existing television.
If you know of an elderly person in the community who may need assistance, please pass on this information. Seniors can call the Council on Aging with questions at 513.345.8643. For information on the TV Converter Box Coupon Program, call 1.888.388.2009.
At auction, I have acquired an award that was presented to, I believe, a former Mayor of your city; at least I think it is. The inscription follows: "Presented to Roderick D. Barney by the Citizens of Wyoming as a token of their appreciation of his services to the Village as its Mayor, May 2, 1886." Could this have been your mayor?
The award is classed as a Griffin Table. It is hand carved (mahogany) 20"x20"x28" and is very ornate. The table was recently offered at a Hal Hunt Auction in North Port, Alabama. My bid brought this interesting work of art and its history to New Jersey home.
